CRIBBS, William H. "Haverd", 72, of Plant City, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2002 at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, R.G. and Annette Cribbs; sisters, Margery Furney Bartlett, Martha Eckles, and Dorothy Glaros; and brothers, Dean and Chester. Mr. Cribbs is survived by his loving wife, Geneva Wansley Cribbs; three sons, Danny Cribbs and wife Debbie, Tim Cribbs and wife Suzanne, and Phil Cribbs and wife Lori; five grandchildren, Michael, Josh, Caitlin, Logan and Sara; two sisters, Saloma Gault and Shirley Baxter and husband Hermon; one brother, James Cribbs and wife Dinky; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Cribbs was born December 27, 1929 in Mulberry, Florida. He lived most of his life in the Turkey Creek and Plant City area and was a 1950 graduate of Turkey Creek High School. A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955. He owned and operated Haverd Cribbs Fuel Oil and retired in 1987 after 29 1/2 years of employment with Quality Petroleum American Oil Company. Mr. Cribbs was a faithful member and Deacon of The Turkey Creek First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2002 at 11 a.m. from Turkey Creek First Baptist Church with Pastor David Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Turkey Creek Cemetery . The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Turkey Creek First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations may be made to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, 12902 Magnolia Ave., Tampa, FL 33612, or Turkey Creek First Baptist Church, 4915 West Trapnell Rd., Plant City, FL 33567.
