SWERDIN, Samuel M., 82, of Tampa, died Monday, March 21, 2005. Mr. Swerdin was born in New York February 5, 1923. He had wonderful memories of growing up in New York and spending time in Coney Island. He studied architecture at Columbia University and worked as a draftsman until his retirement. He came to Tampa eight years ago from Miami and cherished the time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughters, Jan Sakhnovsky of Roswell, Ga., and Miriam Zohar of Odessa; son, Michael Swerdin of Cumming, Ga.; the mother of his children; Laurel Swerdin of Cumming, Ga.; brother, Burton Swerdin, and sister, Doris Swerdin, both of New York; and grandchildren, Gabriel, Robert, Jacob, Bailey and Audrey. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, at Congregation Kol Ami, 3919 Moran Road, Tampa. Rabbi Joel Wasser and Cantor Yaacov Ephron will officiate. Interment will follow at Gan Shalom Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Kol Ami, Hillel School or to the charity of one's choice.
