KARPAY, Anne 27, of Nashville, TN, passed away Jan. 5, 2008. Anne was born in Tampa in 1981, graduated from Land O' Lakes High School as Valedictorian; graduated Vanderbilt University with honors, and nearly completed Vanderbilt University's graduate school PhD program in molecular biophysics in the department of Biochemistry. All who knew her thought she was a true competitor. She knew how to excel and succeed; she knew no limits. Anne had a heroic 4-year battle against breast cancer. She is survived by her parents Dr. Richard I. and Barbara C. Karpay, of Land O' Lakes; grandparents, Bobbie & I. J. Karpay, and Evelyn & Harold W. Canfield; and her most special friend, classmate, colleague, and true love, William S. Bush. She had an instant smile that was a mile wide, a laugh that filled the room, and bright sparkling eyes. She left positive impressions on teachers, friends, competitors, and family. She will be dearly missed, but not forgotten. Funeral Services will be 1:30 pm, Monday, Jan. 7, at Loyless Funeral Home, 5310 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Land O'Lakes, under the direction of David C. Gross Funeral Homes, Beth David Chapel, St. Petersburg. Interment will follow in Gan Shalom Cemetery .
