KANIK, Dr. William, age 76, of Tampa died Friday, June 11, 2004. Dr. Kanik came to Tampa six years ago from his native, New York. He was an optometrist in Brooklyn, N.Y. where he practiced for over 40 years. He was a member of Congregation Kol Ami, was one of the founding members of Hazak and was a member of Westchase Seniors. Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years; Phyllis, sons and daughters-in-law; Drs. Andrew and Kerri Kanik of Monroe, Conn., and Dr. Keith and Dorit Kanik of Israel and five grandchildren; Harrison, Saige, Segev, Evyatar and Kinneret. Funeral services will be held today (Monday), 12:30 p.m. at Congregation Kol Ami, 3919 Moran Road, Tampa. Rabbi Joel Wasser will officiate. Interment will follow at Gan Shalom Cemetery . In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center.
