FOWLER, James O., 73, of Durant, Fla., passed away Sunday, May 7, 2006. Mr. Fowler was born in Greenwood, Fla., and moved here from Tallahassee in 1964. He was in the Air Force and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Fowler; and son, Burney Mathis. Survivors include his sons, Bryant Mathis of Anniston, Ala., and Byron Mathis of Clearwater, Fla.; daughters, Kathy Cook of Durant, Fla., Marie Haynes of Mulberry, Fla., Lori Langford of Plant City, Fla., Terry Owens of Durant, Fla., and Kathy Bailey of Lithia, Fla.; sister, Jean Lawrence of Dunnellon, Fla.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family received friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Wells Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Wells Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Charles Studstill officiating. Interment will follow at Bloomingdale Cemetery in Brandon, Fla. Wells Memorial Funeral Home
